InOne of the most celebrated tunes from the MoreHouse Records Catalogue; the original release of "Midnight" found it's way into the record bags (remember those) of tastemakers, in Nov. 2003.
Original support included a 'Who's Who' list of House music legends such as Frankie Knuckles, Tony Humphries, Roger Sanchez, & Kerri Chandler just to name a few. A crowd favorite on any given night, and the perfect tune to drop when the clock strikes twelve on New Years Eve; Midnight is also highly sought for the DJ Tools which were included on the original vinyl release. It's also been featured on numerous compilations such as the critically acclaimed "AfterDark/Los Angeles" series, OM Records "Summer Sessions" and most recently Ministry of Sounds "The Mashup Mix 2009" earlier this year.
Fast forward 6 years later to today and we're proud to unleash a slew of blazing hot new mixes (including the winning remix from our "Midnight 2010" Remix Contest) that are primed & ready to wreak havoc on dance floors worldwide.
TRACK DESCRIPTIONS
Groove Junkies 2010 Remix & Instrumental
GJs Evan Landes hits the mark dead on! He offers up a deep, tribal house workout with tech elements laced in, moody strings and familiar keys that lend themselves perfectly to Diane's hair raising vocal and the fellas spoken word.
Groove Junkies Media Noche´ Re-Touch
This one has been re-mastered and includes new afro/soca style drums and percussion. If you liked the original 'Media Noche' Mix than you'll definitely want to take this one out for a ride.
Stuttering Munx Vocal Mix
The always reliable Stuttering Munx deliver again with two superb productions! The 'Vocal Mix' is soulful and slightly electrified, giving plenty of room for Diane's killer vocal to shine. This one's got plenty of hump and can be dropped either early or late.
Stuttering Munx Tough Love Dub
The 'Tough Love Dub' is a harder, funkier affair; stripping the vocal back to a few well used stabs, leaving the emphasis on rhythm & percussion and driving bottom end. This one's ready to destroy any dance floor!
Stuttering Munx NYE Countdown Tool
The guys turn in a definitive NYE Countdown Tool complete with a cheering crowd, sound FX, the countdown and Big Ben himself. ESSENTIAL!
Di Pascali's Early Morning Mix
A powerful mix with funky bass & clav, amazing strings & percussion and great keyboard work from Paris' rising star Di Pascali! Nu Disco House at its best. Don't sleep!!

Groove Junkies & Chappell deliver the definitive ADE anthem! FIYA!!
Born and raised in Athens, Georgia USA, Chappell now resides in The Netherlands. His rise within the House Music community since his first release in 2006 has been nothing short of phenomenal! Releases such as “Just Sing”, “Your Friend”, and “Lift U Up” have received massive support from tastemakers and fans alike, & has achieved Top 10 download status on traxsource.com. 2009 has been a particularly prolific year for Chappell as he’s been a featured vocalist and writer on 8 tracks that have already been released, with a few more still due to drop before years end. His ‘in demand’ status has found him collaborating with the likes of Hardsoul, Ralf Gum, Baggi Bagovich, Daniel Bovie, Danny Marques, Gene Farris, and Distant People to name a few. Suffice to say the man’s be en on FIYA!
It’s with great pride that we welcome Chappell as a new member to the MoHo extended family! His collaboration with Evan Landes from Groove Junkies is a straight up dance floor monster that promises to take the party to the next level. “You Love House” contains a variety of vocal mixes to choose from to appease various tastes, along with accompanying instrumentals and a handy Spoken Word acapella. As the song says - ‘When you love house, you love it all the way, it’s a part of your soul til’ your last dying day.’ Enjoy!
Mix Descriptions:
01-02: GJ’s Main Mix & Instrumental
Evan delivers an afro tinged ‘Classic’ GJ’s style mix with a Philly twist. Soulful rhodes, rhythmic vibes, ‘live’ bass, tasty sax & flute, warm string pads, and a wicked synth solo serve as the perfect backdrop to Chappell’s impeccable soulful vocals. Sweeeet!
03-04: Ruben Mancias Devotion Mix & Instrumental
Ruben Mancias rolls out a deep driving jam in true ‘Devotion’ style. Deep bassline, rhodes, and synth carry the track, with the unified message of "House" music riding throughout. One for da headz!
05-07: Stuttering Munx Vox Mix, Dub & Instrumental
The Stuttering Munx serve up another fine slab of smashing Tech-House Mixes. Their Vox Mix comes replete with a rolling electro tinged bassline, quirky percussion, lush pads and Chicago stabs making full use of Chappell’s incredible vocal. The Dub Mix stays true to the Vox musically, but features sparse cut up vocals that morph in & out, with uber cool results.
08-09: GJ’s Alternative Mix & Instrumental
Evan flips things around on the ‘Alternative’ using a tad less of the vocal while taking more of a four on the floor approach with the drum bed. The mix also features a rhythmic lead synth, killer B3 organ & trumpet riffs and solos, driving synth bass, and hypnotic rhodes pads. Tight!
10: Spoken Word Acappella
Short, sweet, and repetitive. Nuff said.

The Groove Junkies land with another outstanding package from Morehouse records. This track has some outstanding mixes coming from the Groove Junkies themselves, Stuttering Munx and also Ruben Mancias. We will go for the GJs first, the Main mix starts us off with a very deep male vocal singing away with the Groove Junkies trademark spoken vocal, sexy sultry sax stabs come in and out and a very funky sounding synth does the rest. The Alternative mix is next up, a slightly slower version which is more aimed at bar styled music venues. Ruben Mancias delivers a very good and interesting remix, a lot more aimed at the spoken vocal by Chappell. The synth does most of the work over the top of the solid beats. Stuttering Munx are next up with a tougher version, this mix has kept the Funkiness of the GJs Main and the Mancias as well as the spoken vocal in this Defected esk style remix. Also present is Instrumentals from Stuttering Munx and also the GJs as well as the Spoken word accap pella. Yet again another floor filling package from the Groove junkies and the Morehouse records crew.

Spirit of House
The Groove Junkies team up with the highly talented Chappell to deliver "You love House", an uplifting feel good production guaranteed to become a timeless anthem. The main mix is a joyous blend of a funk drenched four-to-the-floor groove with elements of Afro and unequaled Philly Disco, with Chappell contributing outstanding vocals. The alternate mix flips things around and turns the track into an infectious latin flavored dance floor gem. The remixes are courtesy of Ruben Mancias who reworks the track into a deeply drivin' jam featuring captivating synths and wicked rhodes, while Stuttering Munx serve a deep hypnotic tech-house dub loaded with lush pads, Chicago stabs and cut up vocals. A 'Spoken Word Acapella Tool' completes the package.

Jocasta is a product of the soul, reggae and drum n’ bass melting pot that describes the music of Bristol, UK. When you also take into account that both of her parents are professional musicians with a jazz flavour, you begin to realize where Jo’s earliest influences came from. She simply had no choice; there was no way she couldn’t become a unique singer and songwriter. As her musical palette continued to evolve, further inspiration from icons such as Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin, and even ska legends Madness all made a lasting impression on her.
Which brings us to her debut release on MoreHouse, “Girls Are Evil.” The title sounds a lot harsher than the tune is intended to be. It’s part cheeky slapstick, and part retaliation to girls that simply love to bring you down. Jo’s fresh vocal & lyrical styling on “Girls” clearly tag her as ‘one to watch’. The package includes 5 uniquely different remixes, along with 3 instrumental versions (8 mixes in all) to satisfy a variety of musical tastes. Remixes come courtesy of MoHo’s own Groove Junkies, and UK star’s on the rise Stuttering Munx. In her own words Jocasta says - “Luckily the person I wrote this about has no idea it’s about them, which also makes me a little bit of a bitch and a hypocrite…but aren’t we all!” Girls truly are evil :-) Enjoy!
TRACK DESCRIPTIONS
Groove Junkies Classic Vox
Evan & Parrish on the classic house tip. Tasty rhodes pads, rhythmic synths, lush strings, flute, sax, horn sections, live bass and crisp beats serve as a perfect backdrop to Jocasta’s quirky vocal. Strictly for the soulful heads.
GJs Dislectrotek Mix & Dub
Somethin’ different from the fellas. As the mix names imply, the music beds for these 2 remixes feature various elements of disco, a tinge of electro, and tech house. Quirky, funky and fresh best describes both mixes; with a more minimal vocal approach and different bass line offered on the dub.
GJs Regga House Mix
GJ’s pay homage to the original ‘ska’ version and house things up regga style incorporating elements from the OG. Replete with horn sections, sax, flute, live bass and driving afro/soca beats. Just in time for the pool & beach parties.
Stuttering Munx Go Deep Mix
Tim & Johnny show off their versatility and take a brief departure from their signature progressive tech house production style. The guys deliver a deep house gem that’s dark, brooding, and just plain nasty!
Original Version
Midtempo ska/pop at it’s very best. Fans of bands like No Doubt and even Ska pioneers, Madness will seek out this ‘feel good’ radio friendly nugget.

What a track this is: 8 mixes on this package from the Groove Junkies themselves and new boys on the block Stuttering Munx. The Groove Junkies Classic Vocal kicks off with a very strong vocal with a very unique sounding voice. This track has very catchy piano riffs and a brilliant Saxophone solo which sets this mix apart from the rest, this is ideal for the Lounge Bar scene around the world. Next is the Dislectrotech Mix, slightly tougher bass but with that same soul as in the Classic Mix, the vocals are stripped down and the sax isn’t present as much but it still has that edge. The Dislectrotech Dub does exactly what it says, deeper with less vocal but in a more repetitive way but it still works so well. The Regga House Mix is up next with an Afro Caribbean feel to it. This has a new feel and energy and even the vocal sounds different, you can just imagine this being played on steel drums with the wind pipes blowing away in the background. The last vocal workout is by new guys the Stuttering Munx. This is a very strong production with a slightly more mainroom sound, a tribal-edged version with some very nice loops and effects. It’s a very nice package ideal for those outdoor summer moments, and a big one for the Soulful vocal lovers and all the House heads. Enjoy with a nice cold beer. The Groove Junkies get in the studio with Stuttering Munx and Indeya to bring you “Stories Of An Addict” on MoHo 180. The first track, “Addicted To The Rise” features Stuttering Munx and Indeya on vocals which is very mainroom sounding with that funky sounding edge that Groove Junkies have spent years getting just right. You can definitely expect this to be all over Ibiza over the next few months. The final track on this outstanding EP sees the Stuttering Munx on their own with “Toasted Tubes”. Johnny Young has given us a percussion filled mix that has got so much energy, and can quiet easily fit into any of the Swedish Mafia style set. Tim Nice Way Back Mix is the next remix of this track. Deep spoken vocals saying, “Time to go back” add the extra bit of edge to thi s version. This is a brilliant package on MoHo 180 that will appeal to a whole new audience and dancefloor, and just in time for the start of Ibiza.

MoreHouse Records younger sibling delivers release number two featuring new productions from Stuttering Munx and a collaboration with Groove Junkies that features the vocals of Indeya. Typical Groove Junkies/MoreHouse it ain‘t; there‘s a tougher edge to the proceedings. That should see “Addicted To The Rise” and “Toasted Tubes” appeal to those who enjoy their house with a techy twist. For me it’s the “Time Nice Way Back Mix” of “Toasted Tubes” that’s doing it but it’s well worth checking out all the mixes of both tracks for yourself. Dean Serafini

Spirit of House.com's PICK OF THE WEEK - December 8, 2008
Black man in the White House" features woodwind specialist Rick Keller and is the Groove Junkies' way to celebrate the election of Barack Obama as next president of the United States . The project comes your way as a massive package of not less than 14 mixes to choose from. The Groove Junkies' Funky Roots Rub' is a funky tribal house gem featuring spoken words by Prophet alongside horns, sax and flute by Rick Keller. The groove on their 'Politically Correct Mix' is more hefty, with the synth stabs getting slightly techy. Stuttering Munx (Tim Nice & Johnny Young) take the track to the main room using a relentless tech house groove as base for the vocals and cool synths. Scott K. and Joey Kay team up for some serious jackin' Chicago house with jazzy twists out of this world, while Scott K. on his own goes for an organic rework featuring jazzy piano, lovely guitar and funky bassline. Finally we have Outer (aka Richard Amaya) delivering hotness with his afro funk soaked remixes that are nothing less than irresistible. Mike Fossati

Black Man In The White House' is the first track taken from the album, and in case you haven't guessed, it's a tribute to new US president Barack Obama's huge political victory. And boys and girls, it's jumping! Rick Keller, a very talented saxophonist plays some amazing notes through this release, and accompanied by the filtered organ keys, low 303'esque bassline and deep low spoken lyrics, this track has a feeling of a deep, proper house track! For me, it's the Politically Correct Mix, but the other mixes are also very worthy of a listen and play! Great sax! Gareth Morgan

This has been floating around for a few weeks now and it doesn't take a genius to understand where it takes its inspiration from. While the rest of the world was still breathing a sigh of relief, Evan and Parrish were already hard at work putting together this funky spoken vocal number. There are so many mixes that I barely know where to begin. There's something to suit most audiences with my own picks being "GJ's Funky Roots Rub" and the "Scott K and Joey Kay Chicago Bump Mix". The sassy brass in both tracks had me hooked from the first few listens. With the subject matter so topical it may well be that the instrumentals come into their own in the months ahead. Either way this is well worth getting your hands on. Dean Serafini

After not only a historic election which saw Barack Obama elected the new U.S. president - he has also become the inspiration for Groove Junkies' latest release, Black Man In The White House. The men behind Groove Junkies, Evan Landes and Parrish Wintersmith, have come together with Rick Keller to produce their latest single to be released on MoreHouse Records. The package comes with a staggering ten different versions, including remixes from: Groove Junkies, Scott K & Joey Kay, Outer and Stuttering Munx - it's worth noting this release has many versions as instrumentals of each version are provided. 'Funky Roots Rub' - For the dancefloor, this is my first choice - the energy is the best compared to the rest! 'Politically Correct' Mix - This is funky, but something about it makes you wanna just think, and it's perfect for the video, or vice versa. It's house music and funky alright, but I think relatively compared to the rest, it's best for just soaking in this time in history.
